With high probability, the chairs were created in the 1960s in a specialized workshop in the traditional furniture region of High Wycombe, which has been considered the center of English Windsor chair production for centuries. The exceptional craftsmanship and the multitude of lovingly elaborated details make this pair a rare testament to British furniture art.

At the heart of the chairs are the elaborately hand-carved solid wood seats. Unlike industrially manufactured Windsor chairs, each seat was individually ergonomically designed and modeled. Both lounge chairs are in excellent original condition. The wood is extremely well-maintained and has a beautiful patina that has developed over decades, further emphasizing the craftsmanship.
