This original Hayat Roorkee Campaign Safari chair from the 1960s is in superb condition. The black leather shows almost no signs of wear. The wooden frame, in a beautiful teak tone, is in very good condition. One of the cross braces has been replaced in the past. The tension cables are all intact, and all fittings are secure and undamaged. An exceptionally fine piece.

The Safari Roorkee chair was designed in 1933 by Hayat Brothers in Pakistan for British officials and used on safaris. Hayat developed a model that was quick to disassemble, yet stable and comfortable. High-quality materials such as rosewood, mahogany, or teak, and the finest leather were used.
