Wilkhahn Delta set of 2 leather conference/dining chairs by Delta, 1960

This set of two Wilkhahn Delta 2000 chairs, upholstered in deep black leather with brushed aluminum frames and black shells, is in excellent condition. The leather shows minimal signs of wear, and the piping has only a slight patina. The swivel function can be locked in place via a mechanism in the chrome base. The brushed aluminum star bases provide the chairs with a stable foundation. A classic 1960s design, suitable for use as an office or dining room chair.

Over 100 years ago, the Wilkhahn company was founded by Friedrich Hahne and Christian Wilkening as a chair factory. In 1946, contact was established with the Deutsche Werkstätten (German Workshops) and the designers Georg Leowald and Herbert Hirche, who worked in the Bauhaus tradition. Since then, Wilkhahn has been one of the leading manufacturers of premium office furniture. The Delta 2000 model was designed in 1968 by the Delta Group.
